RiSE-ASC Process Roles Artifacts Disciplines

This process shows the work units (activities, tasks, steps), work products (artifacts, templates), and the roles to perform the SPL scoping. This process performs commonality and variability analysis on products in a same domain.

According to the above figure, there are activities to be performed in a way up-front and top-down (Pre-analysis, Develop product map, Prioritize major features). Besides these activities, Define sub-features and Analyze commonality and variability are also performed, however by increments, through the Scrum sprints. For each sprint, Sprint planning  is performed on the sub-set of the Scope Backlog, generating the Sprint backlogDaily Scrum during the sprint is performed to identify problems. Sprint ends with the Sprint review, in which the artifacts are showed to all stakeholders. After the review, another meeting, Sprint retrospective, is performed to identify lesson learned, problems during the sprint with the objective of impoving the process in next sprints. At the end of the sprints, a Features listing, a Feature model, and a Product map are produced.

The roles highlighted in the figure are responsible for the artifacts, even though they be aided by other roles. For example, the Scope owner is the responsible by the Scope Backlog and Domain expert leads the activity Prioritize major features.
