Find bellow flights WITHOUT connection to Recife (please note that some of them have a stop in a Brazilian city in the outbound or return flight, but there is no airplane change)
As mentioned before, there are other flights from US and Europeans major cities to other Brazilian hubs with nonstop flights to Recife, such as Salvador (1h from Recife), Brasilia (2hs from Recife), Rio de Janeiro (2.5hs from Recife), and São Paulo (3hs from Recife)
Nationals from some countries, such as the USA and Canada, need to obtain an Entry Visa prior to traveling to Brazil. It is important to note that, in general, nationals from countries that are members of the European Union do not need a visa to enter Brazil for less than 90 days. U.S. passport holders need a tourist visa for attending AOSD (an extra fee will be charged to attend a conference). Depending on where you live you need to request your visa in a specific Brazilian consulate. See the following list.

An important thing to bear in mind is that, if you're traveling from a country for which Entry Visas are required, a visa application might take a long time to be processed. In general, it does not take longer than 10 business days. Nevertheless, we recommend that you contact the consulate nearest to you in order to get precise information about the processing time.
Visa Support Letters
The ACM (Association for Computing Machinery) does not issue formal invitation letters for visas. It can, however issue a Visa Support Letter. Please send all visa support letter requests to
supportletters@acm.org with the following required information:
- 1. Name as it appears on your passport
- 2. Current Mailing address
- 3. The name of the conference you wish to attend: AOSD'2011
- 4. If you have any papers accepted for the conference, please indicate whether you are the sole author or a co-author, and provide the full title of the document
- 5. Registration confirmation number
Please note that Visa Support Letters are not issued via email.
Attendees should plan their travel well in advance. Please allow one month for the letter to be received, especially for overseas requests. Please plan accordingly
