Incremental Semantic Modeling and Tracking (2016-present)
Research study to incrementally model primitives on a sparse point cloud using geometric and statistical analyses. The main idea is to use the geometric relationship between the point cloud and the estimated shapes to select the most reliable ones. Besides that, a statistical evaluation is incorporated to filter randomly-detected primitives in a noisy sparse point cloud.

Tracking for Mobile Device: Paper Cataloge (2016)
Several tracking techniques have been proposed lately to take into consideration the benefits and limitations of mobile devices. This project aims to map this research area. The collaborative paper catalog can be found at http://www.cin.ufpe.br/~rar3/tracking_sm/

Face Tracking for Mobile Device (2015-2016)
Research project aiming to develop efficient real-time tracking technique for mobile devices.
ISMAR Tracking Competition (2012-2015)
Member of the Voxar Labs Team in the ISMAR Tracking Competition 2012, Volkswagen Tracking Challenge at ISMAR 2014 and ISMAR Tracking Competition 2015.
Mobile Augmented Reality Applications (2011-present)
  • Mobile Augmented and Virtual Reality consultant for the CIn/Samsung Project;
  • Member of the Voxar Labs Team in the Layar Creation Challenge that created the 3rd best concept application;
  • Leader of the Voxar Labs Team in the Metaio Developer Contest that created the best application on the category GotHeARt!
  • Member of the team that developed a Augmented Reality application to detect Skin Cancer.
Google Glass for AR (2014)
There is a high expectation regarding the use of Google Glass in Augmented Reality scenarios. The research aims to investigate if this device is suitable for this kind of applications.

3D Reconstruction Using Structured Lights (2010)
A brief time research aiming to teach about dense 3D reconstruction using structured lights in a short duration course.

M.Sc. Projects

ARBlocks (2011-2012)
ARBlocks is a dynamic blocks platform based on projective augmented reality and tangible user interfaces aiming early childhood educational activities. The content is displayed by projectors, which exhibit the required information only on the blocks surface.

QiR (2010)
Work aiming to develop a multi-platform and low cost interactive whiteboard using the Johnny Lee's Wiimote API.

B.Sc. Projects

Image Pair Rectification (2009)
Researched and developed as a graduation work, the polar rectification is an image processing technic that aims to modify a pair of frames in a way that matching points lays down at the same y-coordinate, optimizing the correspondence search at the dense reconstruction.

Echoes e Sonar (2007)
Developed as a student project during a graduation class, the Echoes was designed and prototyped to be a dispositive to share digital content in a computer, such as video, audio and images, with a television though the wireless network. The sonar, software to manage the content shared, can transmit those files to any device in the user’s network.
